Deployment note

In this release we've made an important change to our architecture to manage resource availability and distribute load. Specifically, AI Guardrails now uses Prefect, an open-source orchestration tool. Prefect handles asynchronous task processing and is required for the new custom dataset feature. This means customers must deploy the necessary Prefect services (containers, workflows, namespaces) in their self-hosted environment. We understand that adding new services to a self-hosted environment requires planning and we're committed to making upgrades as seamless and painless as possible.

We've designed for several upgrade paths:

1. Activate when ready: The new custom dataset feature is hidden until the required Prefect services are detected. You won't be forced to upgrade your hosting environment until you're ready to adopt the new feature.

2. Dedicated support: Existing AI Guardrails customers who want to upgrade can schedule a call with our cloud support team and be guided through the setup process.

3. Simplified deployment: We are in the process of updating CAI-deploy to automate the new setup requirements. We expect this to be available in the next few weeks.
